Hi guys
Noticed that our soffit which is something like 6mm ply (flimsy) is rotten and the tail which is picking up the soffit is rotten also (not sure what it's attached to as I dont want to disturb it). The ply seems to run across the top of the window into the bay and then back out the other side.
How would you guys deal with this as I'm worried if I cut back the dead wood from the top of the window back to the gable end it will take out any strength holding the window etc. I also don't want to disturb the internal ceiling which is coming across the top of the window if I can help it. But obviously I want to get it sorted and get rid of any dead wood so to speak. Hopefully I'm clear in my explanation thanks .
You can see I've shoved some sponge in the hole for the time being but do have some spare soffit which I might use to patch until sorted properly.
