Hi this is my first post, so I hope someone can help! :)

I need my bathroom suite replacing like for like. I've got the suite already so all the plumber has to do is take out the old and fit the new one. All connected to the existing pipework. I also need the hot water cylinder replacing.

How much should I expect to be charged for the work. Like I said before I have the suite and cylinder already.

Cheers! :)

I would never give prices without a site visit jobs NEVER quite consist of replacement like for like.

Yes a bath for a bath for a bath yes but pipes need to be moved/replaced/rerun to meet current regulations etc.

You also give your location as UK but any price quoted will vary greatly depending upon which part of the country you live in.

Hi alan

I'm based in Stoke-on-Trent. Obviously most plumbers would like to give a price after they have seen the job. But I was just wondering if i could get a rough guide of what the job would cost.

cheers!

My unqualified mates at plumbing college charge between £250 and £500 for replacing suites.

North East England prices range from £190.00 to £500.00 depending on the suite..taps..shower.. etc.

If you think how many days it would REALISTICALLY take, then multiply that by a realistic figure (say £100 a day) then that would give you a rough idea.

Obviously a master plumber will charge a lot more (I knew of one who charged nearly £400 a day) and an untrained (not necessarily bad) plumber or "odd-job man" will charge less.

if it seems like a real bargain it is probably not. If someone can do it within 6 weeks beware of that too. Get a written quote and follow up references. Fitting a bathroom takes a number of skills any one of which could cause problems later. If someone says it will take less time than you think..... chargind less than £140 a day beware....
