Blue & yellow cores used for the earth?

Had he misheard someone say "green & yellow"?

Where does the extra bit of g&y suddenly appear from in the 2nd pic?

thats the other switch!!its a two two way switches!basically the ex houseowner must have bought two one way switches and took a guess what went where!!then must have left it when he moved out!!when new tenant moved in the rcd kept tripping when things were switched on so out i came and found this!!

That looks like a contender for the hall of shame.

How could anyone live with wallpaper like that!

Easily sorted though. Just disconnect the earth and hang a pair of gloves next to each switch.

Hard to tell from the pics but apart from connecting neutral to the face plates are they both dimmers?

OK, I give up. Can't see anything right.

I wonder how many years it would have been left like that if it wasn't on an RCD though?

got it in one!!literally nothing is right lol!!
i just wonder how long previous owner must have put up with it for after they done it!!

Everyone knows what colour you get when you mix blue and yellow, maybe that's what he thought he'd do.

Jesus Harry Christ. I mean, how ridiculous? How stupid must a person be to think its ok to connect a live (or even neutral, by logic of thinking in new colour code) to an exposed metal faceplate???

I cant tell, would the blue wires ever have been live? I'm guessing there were no fatalities from this abbhoration. I cant believe my eyes. Someone could have easily DIED here. By the same thinking as above, oh look a spare terminal, I'll connect my loop wires there.

This person must never be allowed near an electrical accessory again.

And two dimmers. How did they think that'd work?

Sorry, I needed a good rant.

Dont like the Daily Mail. Their headlines for example:

In response to "rumour" that ID cards might be introduced in the next 5 years, the Daily Mail would print something like "ID CARDS TO COST EVERYONE £200". Prats. Nothing like accurate reporting is there?
