Our house is timber frame with timber siding, on a concrete slab (in some places over a metre deep). Our floor tiles in certain areas of the house have started to get little pools of water in between them.

Could it be possible that this is from not having flashing under the bottom sideboards outside the house?

Or more likely to be rising damp?

If it is rising damp, can we do anything about this without ripping up tiles? AND, if we do have to rip up tiles, can we paint something onto the slab? OR do we have to dig up slab too????

Thanks

Please see Forum Rule 1a. I have now deleted your duplicate post under "Floors"

Also, few of us have experience of conditions or building methods in Vanuatu, you may do better talking to someone nearer home

As the mod says, contact a local surveyor to come look at the problem, there may be houses in the local area that have simular problems that they have experience with sorting.
