When I highlight in Excel it wont show in normal view

When I highlight in Excel it wont show in normal view, but when I look in print preview my highlights shows. How can I get it to show in normal view and print preview.

My admin person logs on and it is ok for him, but when I log on, it will not for me.

He updated the OS and added permissions to my profile and folders and mine still does not work, he also gave me admin rights to test and still it did not work.

Can you give me any information that can solve this?

We thought of doing that as a last resort, but wanted to know if there was any other alternative, besides doing that.
