Hi guys, I have my premises drylined and almost all my cable is hidden apart from a few which need to come out for example in places where the PIR for my Alarm system are going to go and other examples such as where the link to the breaker point for my door are going to go etc.

Now I was wanting something which could neaten up the hole where the cable is coming out and was wondering if there is some sort of grommet or such feature which i could add to the dryline that would neaten up the hole.

Thanks

you can get flex outlet plates , like a blank plate with a hole in it, but they are the size of a light switch though.

Rocky I was wanting something small like that size of say a 2 pence piece.

I remember once Telewest come to do an install at one of my premises a long time ago and they used some of these fixings which were really nice but got knows what they are called. Basically they fix into the wall and cable snugly comes through

Not seem then in any electric wholesalers
maybe more satelite/ alarm use.
think i have seen similar in houses, where sky etc go through the wall.

may be worth a post on the alarm forum

I've seen plumbers use them when the small heating pipes come out the wall in to a radiator, you could try a plumbers merchant if all else fails but as said above satellite/alarms may be your best bet.

Why don't the cables come out behind, and therefore concealed by, those accessories?

chris thanks for the link matey, really appreciate it. I was wondering whether there is a solution similar to several coax cables?

Not that I'm aware of.

Might be better to consider fitting a dry liner box, then adapting a blank face plate with a suitable drill size and grommets.

Here's an example of what AV firms do with a single plate

Hi sorry missed this post as I was replying off my mobile handset earlier.

The cable is coming from behind and to some extent is concealed however at certain angle the hole would be visible and likewise I would prefer to have a finishing feature which would look neat.

I was also wondering guys, in addition to what I asked Chris regarding multiple cables. Do you think its a good idea having something similar to these fit into the floor from which the cables appear rather than have the cable coming through the wall and having an issue keeping the hole neat?

There really for office tables and usually about 75mm to 100mm diameter

Then it's not behind....

If for some reason I wanted to fit a surface pattress with a switch or socket etc, rather than a flush one, I wouldn't have the cable coming out of the wall next to it, I'd have it behind it...

I'm getting confused now - do these cables come out of the floor or the wall?

well rocky the size for this purpose of several cables wasnt a problem but i too was thinking they may look silly on the floor as you see them on desks
