I drained down my heating system two weeks ago and still can't get the air out of it! It seems to congregate round the pump and can get so bad that the pump runs dry and the boiler cuts out. If I run the pump without the boiler on, the air dissipates and it goes quiet but as soon as the boiler kicks in the air is back. So where is this air coming from? It seems like the boiler itself is putting air into the system. Can this be possible?
The system is
British gas 330+ boiler
22mm Combined feed and vent
Grundfos pump (pumping downwards)
please help me sort this out.
