Where to get 4x1 inch pine for my door frame?

Thanks!

So, another question ... the timber yard came back with "Are you able to take 20mm x 95mm as this would be the cheapest option" - now this Selco timber, do they quote the finished size, or is it actually going to be smaller, ie. 95 by 20? I had this problem before! - edit - just called Selco, that's not finished size...

And, if smaller, can I get away with 95mm for my door frame? Or will 2.5mm gaps each side be noticeable?

Timber yard came back with

To supply only:

2 pieces 200cm long 25mm x 100mm finished size
1 piece 156cm long 25mm x 100mm finished size
£32.46

Or
2no 2000mm x 20mm x 95mm finished size
1no 1560mm x 20mm x 95mm finished size
£16.78

All prices subject to VAT

Twice the price for an extra 5mm. But I think it will be worth it? Also an extra 5mm for the hinges to screw into

The extra is because the yard will need to take larger stock (higher cost) and resaw and plane it to the non-standard size you require (extra labour cost/machining charges) and may additionally need to source the timber from a larger merchant with resawing and machining facilities if they don't have the capability in house (potential transport charges). So to me it is not surprising it is costing a lot more. It's also why tradesmen and builders try to work with standard (i.e ex-stock) section timber

BTW 25mm is a bit thin for a door casing especially when you consider that 4in/100mm hinges are supplied with 30 or 32mm screws

Timber yard to the rescue. Looks a perfect fit, plus, I get the off-cuts, that might be enough for the door jams, and a nice bit of pine for something else ...
I might make a ceiling light with hanging lamps from it.
