Wheres my stop tap?

Hello all,

Was going turn off water main to my house to complete some plumbing work but could not find stop tap All the other properties have them on the pavement down my road - although there not all the same sort). Do i contact my water board to find it, and how much would it cost to have one installed???

You should have one somewhere,can you see under the floorboards where the water pipe is and trace it back outside.Could be grassed over or under the flower bed etc...

I may be wrong but I think the water company put in the stop cock for free with a water meter attachment ready for a meter if needed.Mine didn't cost anything.
