Which Combi for a decent shower?

Hi

Overhauling central heating and bathroom and will be getting a new combi to replace the old one on its last legs. It's a 4 bed house and there will be 2 showers but we'll only need to run 1 at a time.

I do want to make sure the 1 shower is as powerful as poss though, and ideally would like to get one of the large ceiling style heads. I'm not sure if going for a larger boiler will make any difference or if I'll be wasting my money.

Plumber has recommended a Valliant Ecotec Plus 837. He's also said the mains supply to the house is currently 15 so has suggesting changing to 28 as there's other building work going on anyway. With all that said, I'm wondering if upgrading to the 937 or the WB Greenstar 42CDi would have any noticeable difference.

Any advice appreciated.

The Vaillant specialists on here aren't at all keen on the 937.

You 1st need to measure your incomig supply, it would be pointless installing a combi capable of supplying 15l/min if your mains supply isn't up to it.

Ps - get your installer to check the pressure too

Was going to but won't the supply coming through change once the pipe's upgraded so wouldn't necessarily be representative?

I have just had fitted a new Worcester Bosch Greenstar 37cdi combi boiler. It provides plenty of hot water for two showers (15 litres per minute) and a bath based on normal mains pressure . It is your choice but i would recommend this.

Yep. But had a customer upgrade their mains supply to the house and still only got 14L/min. What do you get now at your kitchen/outside tap??

A 24kw will easily run 1 shower

i would advise 1 shower fed from combi and install an electric shower so if the boiler breaks down you still have some form of hot water to wash with simples

Ravenheat csi 150 (42kw) worth a look see , can also be fitted with (or up graded) a combi store , giving free hw , at certain times !! worth a look maybe ??????

note the term "free"
