Hi- fitting a canopy type cooker hood extractor fan (into a 'chimney breast' stud construction above range-type gas cooker).
Just wondering- should the cut out plate into which the extractor fits be plywood (external?). If so, how is it finished? Should it be emulsioned? Or should I be using fireboard or something similar? It's going to have to bear up to steam/ be cleanable of course....
All help gratefully received.
Thanks- Richard.
