In order of importance, for an electrician how would you rate:
Combi pliers
Side cutters
Snipe nosed pliers
Cable cutters

Is there one or more you never use or are they all essential?
Is it worth spending more getting the longer versions (approx 200mm) of all these tools for the sake of leverage or is it just more metal to carry?

cable cutters
long nose pliers

long nose pliers rarely get used. side cutters normally live in my pocket. cable cuttes are god for stripping larger cable (i.e meter tails)

i just have the normal sized, not long. my cable cuttes can easily cut thru a 35mm single core or 16mm T&E

Thanks for that Andy, I didn't want to go out and buy absolutely every known tool on the market straight away and then find I don't use half of them (even if I could afford to!!). Think I'm going to go with CK tools as they get a good write up in my previous thread 'What tools?'. I was surprised that Knipex doesn't get mentioned at all but I'll take heed of those in the know and stay away from this brand in preference to one that gets a good write up. Cheers.
