Hi- I'm thinking of buying a router, and I've looked at a range on line. They seem to fall into 2 groups- those costing around the £50 mark and those costing way more; £200-300. Whats the difference? Quality? Durability? As far as I can tell, the power and features are similar.
Would it be very unwise to go for a cheeper one?

heeelllooo davej and welcome :D:D:D:D

all depends on what you want to use it for !!!

sub £100 quarter inch capacity £100-£200 half inch diy end at £100 towards semi pro at £200 £200 plus all the old decent pro routers £300 top end plus new models

this is all a generalisation with exceptions i have various bits of ryobi kit no routers though but i would rate there stuff as diy or light to medium trade

for my big router i have the hitachi mv12 [mid £200s now i paid over £300]

so dependant on what you want it for depends on what you choose :D

Like the big man says, depends on what you're gonna use it for and how often. Scroll down and see the 'recommended router' post from last week, for some suggestions.
