Which sealant to use around radiator pipes?

More paint by the look of it!
What are you trying to achieve?- silicon has enough give in it to deal with pipes expanding and contracting but doesn't take paint very well.

I want to stop any creepy crawlies coming in from this area. Maybe the photo is hard to see but the gap around the pipe is quite large and cannot be resolved with just paint.

Use a flexible paintable filler.
Caulk in layers could be a solution or soudal fixall in one go.
Keep radiators off for a few hours so it cures nicely.
