Which size flex/ampage to use

Can anyone tell me what the correct size flex to use is and what the amp rating should be for:
a) wiring a double 13amp plug socket
b) wiring a new light fitting and switch

You don't use flex, you use cable.
2.5mm T&E for the socket, 1.5mm T&E for the lighting circuit and 1mm T&E for the switching circuit
