Which way does this go ?

Hi Guys, could somebody please tell which is the correct way round to fit this pressure reducing valve ? there is a small o ring on one side , does this face the incoming water ? thanks

It's a flow restrictor, not a PRV.

Two of these were supplied with my thermostatic shower mixer. I fitted them but still wondered why you would want to restrict the flow?

Thanks, have fitted them, apparently they are to allow for different water systems , over 1 bar fit them !
