I've just reversed the panel on my upvc front door because I thought it was fitted the wrong way round, but now I'm not so sure. The inner skin was siliconed to the glazing unit and the outer skin wasn't. A little water was finding its way through somewhere and it seemed logical that the sealed face should go to the outside...
However, when I had the panel out I noticed that the core was a sandwhich of soft polystyrene and something much denser. The denser layer was to the outer skin, now it's to the inner skin. Now I'm thinking that the denser layer is intended to reinforce the outer skin, but before I turn the panel around again I'd appreciate a second opinion.
