whirlpool 1600 dishwasher wont drain

hi i have a whirlpool 1600 which will not complete its cycle,after it finishs washing in starts to drain and gets no further ,then the drain /spin light flashes and the 0 and 100 spin speed light flashs.for a while you can here the pump working ,then sometimes it stops

i have checked and cleaned the pump and the internal pipes for kinks and blocks.
could it be the outlet drain pipe being to high!!!!
also if you turn it t0 spin cycle it still does not work

Easy test. Take the drain hose and hold it just below the level of the top of the machine, aim it into a bucket and switch it on to spin. Does it drain?
If not, you've got an internal blockage somewhere or a faulty pump. (Not uncommon for the impellor to break off).
