An old couple across the road have a Whirpool washing machine that has developed a leak. Having spent some time checking the filter, pipes, water inlet etc... I eventually found the leak was coming from the top rear of the dispenser tray housing.
Having removed that housing I couldn't find any where it could leak from except that the lid of the housing itself may be the cause.
The cold water squirts via a jet into a thin layer in the top of the housing and then runs through a series of holes into the dispenser tray. Although I can not see any blockage I wonder if the water is being blocked and pushed back.
The other odd thing is that on the side of the dispenser housing is a small nipple which looks like an overflow but there is no pipe attached to take any run off, There is a small amount of water dribbling out of that also.
I can't find any schematics so I don't know the part numbers I might need to buy in order to swap the housing or lid or both.
Any thoughts?
