Whirlpool Bath Electrical Connection

I am confused by the installation guide as it says: Additional exponential earth located on the side of the pump. The exponential earth connection to the motor is in addition to the supply cord and must be carried out.
What is an exponential earth connection????

they are basically saying that although the pump has an earth via its flex, that as it is in a bathroom it should be "bonded" search the forums for bonding
