I have an old whirpool dishwasher machine that works great with one problem. If I don't use it for a while (2-3 weeks), the water starts gathering at the bottom of the machine. If I run the machine, the water goes away. Does anyone know why? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Clean water? = inlet valve not closing properly.
Dirty water? = back syphoning from the drain.
