Whistling Boiler help

Hi,

I have just moved into new house. I have an Ideal Elan 2 boiler and this whisltes when the boiler thermostat is between settings 3-6, anything below this setting (ie) 1-2 all is fine.

The boiler manuals say in winter it should be at 6 and summer adjust to suit, it is at 2 1/2 at present and the house could do with a little more heat.

I belive the whistling is air but why only after setting 3+

Is it a sealed system? If so what is the pressure?
It sounds like you could usefully put some system cleaner in.

Hi,

Not sure the pressure as there is no gauge, its wall mounted in my garage.

Can you get System Cleaner from B+Q.
