Potterton Promax HE boiler started making a noise which sounds like a whistling noise for about 1 to 2 minutes after firing. Everything is working fine but just wondered if it might be anything to worry about.

Thanks

Haven't worked on hardly any of these, but as a very general rule, whistling could be possibly be the boiler over gassed

Sounds like gas4you has got it spot on. The whistling is caused by an incorrect gas pressure and will require an engineer out to set the boiler up properly. There is very little margin on these and i have had one that resonated through a block of 4 houses! The neighbours really weren't impressed!

Make sure its not Roger Whittaker stuck in the pipework

Boiler has worked normally for several years now, so I doubt it was set up wrong. Only noticed this noise in the last few days.

These boilers tend to have the co2 % drift out , usually upwards, between each service.

Has it been serviced since it was installed?

Has it been checked/set up with an FGA at each service? It should have been.
