Focus, Wickes, B&Q and the like will probably all sell it by the metre.

Whats more, its doubtful they'll ask whether you intend to break the law with it.

Use grey and festoon your installation with these attractive stickers

Hello
I'll see the hardware stores
No thanks to the sticker it's just the sheath colour i need it white i know that the white cable and old colours are breaking the law to newly install

Jake

It's just a shed...

If you're so concerned about cosmetics that you're prepared to pay nearly twice as much for LSF cable (which AFAIK is the only way you'll get white), why aren't all the cables in conduit or trunking anyway?

1) There are no laws governing what colour the sheath can be.

2) If it's reasonable for you to use old core colours to modify or extend an existing installation which is in old colours then it's not unlawful.

P.S did the photos show up?
Where?

Hi Hagar,

Its not so much the colour of the cable i was thinking of, but more to do with what you intend to wire up. You mention shed and consumer unit, both of which give me some cause for concern.

p.s. no, i haven't seen any photos.

Thats good then...
leaving the house with no power while you walk all the way back in to reset the switch.

I think someone must have been slipping me thick pills again, as I really can't for the life of me work out why the cable needs to have a white sheath

So it obviously wasn't you who originally installed the shed CU & circuits...

Anyway - what size is the cable supplying that CU?

What is the rating of the MCB it comes off?

How far is the shed from the house?

How is the cable installed? I note that it's twin & earth at the shed end, does the same cable run between the house and the shed?

Are you using that type of socket because it's going to be outside?
