Just a quick whinge, having spent the morning moving all the white goods from the kitchen to the new utility room. Why the hell dont manufacturers put some sort of handholds on them so you can move the bloody things. oh and a a place to clip the drain hose so it doesnt spurge water all over the place would be nice to!

Whinge over

Tell me about it, I'm repairing my washing machine right now, a pull type handle on the front to drag it out would be easier :idea:

S'pose their assumptions are that ;

(a) the customer won't move them THAT much;

(b) the appliances will be SO reliable that they'll stay put until the customer moves house ;

(c) the customer has self-adhesive hands

Seriously, though, I find that a pair of rubber gloves (the clingy disposable kind, available from B&Q and other sheds) come in handy for more grip.....

Regards, Graham

yeah funny how they are so reliable yet this forum is full of problems with them!

there is, its called the inner drum.

seriuosly, whe i worked fo h.p to move a w/m was easy.

open the door, put hand in top of drum front of m/c grab, lift up slightly, pull.

you should also be aware the feet of the m/c may have "stuck" to the floor , and a little wobble first and or a squirt of washing up liquid by the feet (the m/c, not yours) often helps.

i take no responsability if you rip the floor

IF you put handles on things, you'd have a spate of injury claims from people who tried to lift a 30kg weight on their own, and did their back in :)

I have a sack barrow for moving such things - less than 20quid,got it when my daughter was moving into her first house and her washing machine had been stored in my garage - definitely easier!
Also have a big suction puller (designed for pulling dents out of car bodywork) - ideal for nice flat surfaces that you otherwise can't get hold of... :eek:

Just a quick reply,strictly not 'on' topic,but saw a topic on white goods on a forum (by Big All i think) a while ago saying that the extended warranty on 'silver',as opposed to 'white' goods at Argos was more!
ANY REASON WHY,IN RIP OFF BRITAIN? :evil:
