i can remember a few years back, when errr... not certain who they were, but every other car had a fkkn stupid white hard hat on show in the back window.. now, my question is...why dont i see this anymore...?
is it because.....

1. they finally realised that no-one was impressed by the effort gone into placing it carefully on the rear parcel shelf, instead of just tossing it onto the floor?
2.. im blind.
3. they decided to drive bmw x5 's instead.

The white hat has now been replaced by a blue flashing light on a car that has ecilop (in my mirror) written on it. This change however will not be noticed by the man in the street as they appear to be as un-available when crime happens. Do they work 9-4 ??

Never mind white hats disappearing, what about patrols?

I hardly ever see any patrols (compared to 70's and 80's and even the 90's), and I think most drivers are cottoning on.

The only "eyes" the police seem to have are the ones with £ signs in them(cameras).

People (in South Manchester, anyway) seeem to drive as they like without any consideration for anyone, and according to a PC I dealt with after an un-insured RTA (the 3rd party, not me!!), at any one time in South M/cr, up to 55% of drivers are un-insured.

We need a greater police presence, like it or not.

The trouble is Simon, that the average, do most things by the book sort of people. When they get caught say - travelling at 36mph in there roadworthy, taxed and tested car, they will be fined and given points and lectured too etc. which causes much aggro and anguish.

Now, the scrotes you see on TV police shows racing away from police in stolen vehicles endangering lives in the process - and you here how they were cautioned! A fine makes no difference to them anyway because they are prob on benefits and can't pay them (or won't!) anyway!

Another thing is, that on the radio the other day, the AA were saying that speeding has become an epidemic? It annoys me the way that motorists are seen as bad as mass murderers for travelling a few miles an hour over the speed limit And motorists that speed whilst using a mobile after eating their apple! Well nothing short of genocide!!!!

My logic is this, based on a few statistics and data I have gathered - You are 85% more likely to have an accident if you inherrently stupid, or 100% guaranteed to crash if you are inherrently stupid and a cr4p driver.

Interestingly, one statistic showed that if you drive a Volvo, you are %100 likely to be in close proximity of an accident every other day...

I used to think that speed did not matter, to within a few mph or so.

But what they say is true.

Hit a peddy at 40 = 80% chance of death

Hit a peddy at 30 = 80% chance of life
