My girlfriend has a car on elect 3 personal lease.

She pays for the car a month and also the usual car insurance.

She also has insurance to protect the finance on the car (I believe) if she has an accident who does she call?

Both, but the accident insurance company first since third party legal action may be pending.

Probably mis-sold. Call a lawyer before they call you and pass the bill onto the rest of us.

I remember the only time I ever bought a new car the salesman tried to get me to take it out on a lease. "Don't be daft" I said. "You're a very wise man" he said back. People who lease cars are paying over the odds for a car they could never afford otherwise.
