He is a good man and a very interesting man, but a leader needs to have great persistence, drive and a fire in their belly to get things done no matter what. Think about Mrs. Thatcher - whatever you think of her achievements she got things done and wouldn't be told what to do by anyone, especially other countries. Alan Johnson isn't really like that.
Persistence is everything, there are no fighters in British politics now.

Yep, the forum is full of 'em. We have financial experts, legal experts, virologists and immigration experts to name just a few. I’m sure they could find enough experts on here to be prime minister, deputy prime minister and make up a full cabinet with another just as a spare!
