.35 ft3-but why are you asking if youve got the answers there?

It won't be. By rights it should be 5 times the badged capacity of the meter. A u16 is probably different now though as it has only just come under the scope of the domestic acs with 35mm pipework but is probably still purged like a commercial due to the higher volume of gas. I presume we aren't talking about a medium pressure u16?

U 16 is 0.025m³ not that it is of any interest on a diy forum being an industrial size meter.

Industrial gas installers know little details like testing and purging BoB we don't need you to enlighten us. ;)

And you fell this is a useful way of improving the quality of Corgi registered plumbers do you??

yes domestic are allowed up to U16 now..

as boilers get gigher outputs the need for more gas is making the need for meters bigger.

Heres another you have to name 12 controls out of 15, which is in writen dialog like, how a Zero guv works, solanoid valve, TCP, Cooker Liquid expansion device, meter gov, cooker safety shut off device, etc.....

do it all its a peice of cake try this.

u16 meter purge volume = 0.03
so if you had
3m of 35mm copper tube = 0.00252
2m of 35mm copper tube = 0.00168

= 0.0025 + 0.00168 = 0.0042 + 10% fitting allowance = o.oo462

so 0.00462 x 1.5 fitting volume = 0.00693
so purge volume = 0.03 + 0.00693 = 0.03693. easy......................

INSTALLATION VOLUME =......

U16 = 0.025
2m of 1 and a quarter mild steel.
5m of 3 quater mild steel.
3m of 15mm copper. =

0.0022 + 0.0023 + 0.00042 = 0.0087 + 10% fitting allownce = 0.00087 + 0.025 = installation volume 0.03457 cu/metre.

All trivially simple stuff. No worries there then.

Purge Volume = 0.03693  Wrong.

The flame arrester requires a hose to connect it to the installation pipework. It's volume must be added to the final sum.
