Hi. We are just having a new bathroom fitted and although we specifically chose taps that were suitable for low pressure (gravity fed) we are disappointed with the flow.
Therefore, I'm wondering about whether we could install a whole house pump (which would improve things downstairs too) to the whole hot and cold system.

The cylinder is currently in the airing cupboard on the 1st floor and the 2 CW tanks are in the loft.

As I've read other posts about the noise of the pumps, I'm wondering if it would be possible to install the pump in the loft and secure it to the chimney to reduce noise transmission to the house as it would be if secured to the floor/joists on the 1st floor. Is this at all possible with my current set up?
Are some pumps quieter than others or more reliable/better peeformance/cheaper or have better operating characteristics thatn other types? I guess I could work out some form of soundproofing wherever it was positioned.

Has anyone looked at this aspect too?

Apologies for the long post but wanted to get all aspects in from the start.

Tks

Grundfos CRIE a fantastic piece of kit that a i cant reccomend highly enough

Pricey but quiet and amazing pressure

Bit of work needed obviously but that seems a logical place.

If youre in a semi then if you mount it on the chimney breast id advise using unistrut with anti vibration mountings to make sure nothings transferred into next door

Yes. Just to clarify, I am trying to boost both hot and cold so guess I'll need a twin impeller pump. Whether or not it's going in the attic or 1st floor, adjacent to the HW cyl is open to what advice is given on this board in part. I guess I could also move the HW cyl to the attic too.....or not?
