Out of interest, why does timber get classified using nominal dimensions?
If something quoted as 150mm nominal always comes in finished at 144mm or there abouts then why dont they just sell it as 144mm +/- a tolerance in the small print.
Always wondered why they do this.
Just seems like it would confuse those not used to this type of thing
