I know it's probably quite obvious to some but just need a second opinion. Just had this toilet installed but can help but feel the pipe alignment isn't right.. Any thoughts/solutions very much appreciated

Looks like very little thought (or skill) has gone into that installation, the strap on boss looks as though it will discharge onto the sealing fins on the pan connector.
Or he may have realised that and cut away some of the fins to accommodate the strap on boss thus reducing the effectiveness of the sealing system.
Also possible that the strap on boss hasn’t been properly fitted (gap sealing solvent) as well as poor alignment, maybe should of used an angled pan connector.
Apart from that, all good.

What a mess, did your 'plumber' come with a white stick and a Golden Retriever?

Strap boss far too close to the pan connection, and extremely likely this is fouling the fins on the pan connector, which is quite possibly the cause of the leak. Get them back to do it properly, which in my opinion means renewing the black soil pipe through the wall, new Pan Connector, either the type with a proprietary Boss included, or the waste needs rerouting to connect at a more suitable position, externally if need be.

Thanks guys really appreciate the feedback. How much would you reckon this will cost to get it rectified. The plumber has done a runner annoyingly!

Depending on what distance you have got you may be able to cut the black soil pipe back beyond the hole where the strap on boss is and fit something like one of these

Managed to get someone in to check it out and try to fix it. It looks a lot 'better'. It turns out the leak was being caused by the sink drainage pipe from the top. Because (like previously mentioned in this post) the pipe was quite short, the sink pipe waste was just landing on top of the toilet waste seal as oppose to infront of it so caused water to fall behind the seal and ultimately create a leak.

That boss is baggy on the pipe!
Get a plumber in!
