Wierd Texecom Veritas Problem!

Got called to a house today with a strange problem, it wouldn’t actually do it when I was there but the customer had recorded to the sound for me.

Symptoms are when the system is unset it randomly makes a two tone sound the same as you get during power failure but then it’s followed a few seconds later by the two tone error tone that you would get if you got a programming option wrong.

I’ve worked on enough of these panels to know what the tones usually mean but I have never come across this particular problem before!

The battery was changed last week but the problem persists!

Any ideas?

I wonder if one of the keypads has got some water in it!!

Was it powered down when battery changed ?
I went to a Scantronic 9448 + with a faulty battery the other week that kept doing the entry tone , then stop ….then entry tone then stop was ok after the power down and battery replacement
