Will my garage fall down if I remove these blocks?

Hi all,

Been recommended this forum so hoping you can help

I have no idea why these blocks would have even been placed to be honest, just very random.

Basically want rid of them, the beams above aren’t even touching the blocks so I can’t see what purpose they have.

Any input appreciated.

Are they not providing lateral stiffness for the external walls?
