Hi
I live in a new build and my kitchen extractor hood lets in wind and cold and is making my kitchen freezing. The hose goes through the kitchen roof as the walls are to low. Does anyone know if there is such a thing that lets the stale air out but stops the wind coming back in. The building company are useless by the way and seem to wipe their hands of the problem.
Thank You.

Are the Builders NHBC registered?? If they are contact them & get a hold of the local inspectors name & phone number. Phone him about it.

Failing that, get a 8x4 sheet of plywood, fix it in your garden facing the road and write on it;

THE BUILDER CAN'T FIX MY KITCHEN EXTRACTOR.

Take a photo of it & send it to their MD.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. If only you knew the half of it!!! I have had an additional 80kg of insulation in the house as there was very little. The builders have just removed top kitchen cupboard after 18months of complaining of cold, and found 6 huge holes behind them!!! No apology either!! I have involved NHBC (This is one of the largest if not the largest housebuilder) but they were pretty useless.
I think I agree with you. I will have to put a sign up and send it to MD and poss go to local press.

Most large Builders fund the NHBC, so get the plywood & paint brush out!!!

One of the largest :eek: Did they used to run an ad with a geezer in a helicopter ;)

No. Its the builders that have the name of a burger restaurant in their name!! and seem to have bought out most other builders!!!!!!!!!!
