Hi

Can anyone advise how to deal with this window sill in the kitchen

I removed the tiles from around the window cill and have been left with some broken brickwork sitting on top of the cavity wall.

Thanks

Knock that layer off the top.
Clean uPVC
Fit tile backer board to the top bridging cavity. Can screw with wedi washers and polymer mastic glue on.

OP,
Remove the 2 x 4's - & completely clean off the "sill" back to brick.
The plaster panel with the pipework looks as though it might be damp - is it?

Yeah. When I said layer I ment the plaster or brick slabs on the top..

Do you mean the wooden baten nailed into the wall at the front, above the plaster. Yes its a bit rotted. It had tiles on it.

Yes looking at the picture again. It probably has had some damp around pipework. I'm putting a DPC around kitchen, sand/cement rendering and plastering up to about a meter
