The Spell Check with Vista, only has the option for English which unfortunately is American English and as we all know Yanks can't spell properly and their grammar leave a lot to be desired.
Any ideas for getting an English English Spell Check into Vista?

What app are you referring to ? Word etc ?

I have Works and a trial of Office Home installed.
Office Spell Check is English UK, but Works will not do a spell check as it returns an error message each time I try to use it.
Outlook Express spell check is English US.
Outlook Express Spell Check only has the option of English and this happens to be English US.

I thought that Outlook Express had been replaced with Windows Mail in Vista!

"Windows Live Mail includes the English (UK) spell check dictionary built-in, but the option is not exposed for some unknown reason."

Assuming you mean Windows Mail then you may find a solution Here

Hi Tony,
Sorry, you are spot on. I am using Windows Mail, I have used Outlook Express for so long now, it is second nature thinking I am still using it,
That looks to be the very solution for which I have been searching. I will try it tonight and post a mail as to its success.
Thanks so much for the help - fantastic.

You may be a little premature with your thanks :(

The link I posted ref. to Windows Live Mail not Windows Mail. AFAIK Windows Mail does not have a UK English spellcheck option. By signing up to Live Mail I think you should be able to check all your email accounts and use a UK English checker.

Hi Fony.
I tried it too quickly. The option Method 2 did not run and returned a message of the failure. SO I tried Method 1 and all sorts of problems started with my Kaspersy Security software. It generated continually repeating messages about security warnings which I could not stop. I eventually restarted my machine and cancelled a program run and all now appears back to normal.
Looks like I will have to stick with the annoying US english spell checker for now.

 Did you mean to say "Hi Phony"
Sorry if my original reply misleading- info from a colleague who uses Vista

The only thing I can think of while you are waiting for MS to release UK spelling is to Add the words/corrections during a spell check - might be a bit tedious doing this

Very Sorry Tony, Please accept my sincere appologies.
I think your idea of adding the spellings as they appear is the best and easiest solution, that is of course assuming my spelling is correct. My spelling capability has deteriorated since becoming so reliant on 'spell checkers'. It sometimes makes you wonder if spell checkers should be banned doesn't it.
Thanks for your interest and help anyway.

No problem, certainly not offended made me laugh - anyway could be a Freudian slip and you may be correct :D

I know what you mean about spelling becoming reliant on spell checkers - my own spilling chucker being a case in point :D
