Wiring a Hive & Potterton EP3000

Hi

Would you mind confirming the correct wiring setup for my hive 2 active heating and water installation with the same potterton ep3000 programmer mentioned above .

I have disconnected the live and neutral
I have disconnected the thermostat from B and 4

Now I need to connect L and N plus HW on, CH off, CH on which should be 3, 2, 4 on the potterton however only 1 and 3 are used (5 being a loop)

Please can someone tell me which potterton wires to run to the hive (pressurised HW sysyem)

First of all you need the Dual Channel Version of the Hive.

The N and L are straightforward, swap them over to the Hive like for like

When you removed the thermostat wire from B, I assume that there is still another wire in B. This will be 'Heating on' (Hive 4)

The wire in Potterton 1 is 'Hot Water off' (Hive 1)

The wire in Potterton 3 is 'Hot Water on' (Hive 3)

The terminals A B C & D don' have any connection to the programmer, they are just terminals to assist with installation, so, if there are any wires in terminal A, they need to be connected together in a separate isolated terminal. If there are any wires in terminal B, they need to be connected together in a separate isolated terminal. If there are any wires in terminal C, they need to be connected together in a separate isolated terminal.

And that's it no links required.

For future reference, you should have started your own thread. Not only is it less likely to be seen by those that can help, but tagging your question on to someone else's is known as hijacking and against the forum rules. Don't do it know though or you will have two treads going on the same subject.

The link wires at the Potterton won't be required at the Hive, but all of the wires originally connected to a Live should still be connected to the Live at the Hive.

All of the wire originally connected to a neutral should still be connected to the neutral at the Hive

There shouldn't be any spare wires that were previously connected not going anywhere.

In the case of the neutral that means the N terminal strip top left, and the actual N terminal itself. The loop between the two N terminals at the Potterton can be discounted as there is only on N terminal at the Hive.

Looking at the photos you posted whilst I was replying, the thermostat was connected to C, not B, in which case everything I said before is OK except one change.
