I have a mains-powered dual spot security light with a built-in PIR unit that was working when removed from the wall (not by me) but I don't have any installation instructions and I'm unsure of the wiring to connect it to the mains.
It has two wires to each light and three to the PIR. The whole unit is plastic so there is no earth terminal. The unit is made in China (natch) by "Today's Home" item # 14778.
- Each light has black and white wires.
- The PIR wires are blue, black and brown.
I thought the connections should be
PIR wires
black - neutral
brown - live from mains
blue - switched live from PIR to lights
Light wires
blue - switched live from PIR
white - neutral
But I welcome suggestions and I have a voltage meter if that helps.
Regards
Paul
