Hi, I've read numerous threads on here about this subject and used them to wire in a Hive mini but I'm having issues with it not activating the boiler.

Boiler is a Main Combi 30, pic of wiring diagram from boiler panel attached

The pics attached are how I have it wired, which I believe is correct. Left wire is the 5 core flex going to the Hive receiver

I have tried setting the timer on the boiler to constant/on, pic attached of the one installed. Lever pushed to the top and all the timing marks are inwards. I believe my issue is something related to that but even with all the connections to the timer removed(pic attached), Hive still won't control the boiler.

Have I wired it in wrong or is there something else I am misunderstanding?

You appear to have 2 cables going to the live and switched live to the boiler. One is obviously the Hive, what’s the other for? Also, is the black cable power feed for the boiler?

In addition to above...
even with all the connections to the timer removed(pic attached), Hive still won't control the boiler.
In the picture with the wires behind the timer, try connecting together the two black wires in a separate terminal block.

Those go to a 'water conditioner'. It was on the boiler when we bought the house and wired into where the previous thermostat was connected. I just left them in when adding the Hive

The black cable is the power feed for the boiler, that goes to a 13amp plug nearby.
