Wiring Hive to Vokera combi Vision 30C

Just tried to wire Hive to the vision 30c but resulted in the fuse getting blown off. Anyone have any idea where it went wrong?

Theoretically, the connections you've made, appear to be correct, despite incorrect wiring colours being used.

Having a loose blue wire hanging around, that can cause a short on the board is really a bad idea.

First step
Remove your wiring to the Hive.
Reconnect the link wire on the thermostat terminals connected to the two light blue wires.
Replace the blown fuse with one of the correct value.
Check that the boiler works as it did, doesn't blow a fuse, and hope you haven't damaged the PCB.

If the boiler still works...

Second step
Use the correct colour wires in your cable
Live (brown) to L on Hive
Neutral (Blue) to N on Hive
Earth (Green/Yellow) to Earth terminal on Hive.
Then use Grey and Black wires to connect the light blue thermostat wires to terminals 1 and 3 on the Hive

The wiring colours will then be compliant (try and make use of the cord grips) and there will be no loose wires to cause shorts and damage to the PCB.

Just to Note, the Vokera uses 24V for the thermostat switching - the single channel Hive has volt-free contacts and is suitable, other thermostats may not be.

thanks. Just wanted to check should wire everything exactly the same way on the Vokera end at the terminal? if not any chance of providing a diagrams where each colour go?

Connect to the same places, but use the conventional colours, additionally add the earth connection.

Also, secure the loose terminal block, so that it cannot accidently short against anything, when the cover is closed.

But as I said earlier - first, it would be worth making sure that the boiler still operates correctly, and doesn't blow a fuse, without your wiring additions!
 
thanks again. I have now removed the wiring for hive. The boiler is making a heating sound but there is nothing displaying on the terminals sadly. A new PCB it seems?

Have you replaced the fuse/s and the short link wire connecting to the two light blue wires in the small terminal block?

If we ask very nicely, maybe @vulcancontinental could have some suggestions?
 
Yup! Only the fuse in the terminal blow but I replaced both of the fuses. Reconnected the short link wire connecting the two too

CN5 seems clean. However there is a burn mark close to the terminal which I m guess is coming from the blown off fuse
