my central heating system had a motorised control valve fitted to the outlet of the flow to the return to the boiler hot water system . this is now jammed solid and i am about to fit another which in plumbing terms is no problem to me, however there is no existing wiring it having been removed some time ago.
the system appears simple ie supply to the valve and control from a tank thermostat
the power supply is there and i have bought a honywell cylinder stat but when i looked at the wiring diagramme on the control valve it was for a complicated system going through the control system and couldnt fathom out how to do the simple thing i want .
supply to the valve and control from the cylider temp stat.
can anyone help

Yoowot? Do you mean the Return, from the Cylinder to the boiler?

If you want to open a 2-port valve, make its brown wire live, and blue neutral, usually. Pins you want on the cyl stat are Common and Normally Closed.

I assume you have gravity HW, otherwise there's not much reason to do such a thing. There are non-electric ways, or you could put a pump in to come on when the valve's open, perhaps only when the pipe's hot...etc
