Hi
I bought an LED batten from ebay, has 2 wires only L & N, they are short, the smallest connector I have is 9mm x 9mm but won't fit in the space. Is there a smaller connector or shall I use electrical pvc tape or...?

Thanks

I think these battens are not CE approved, the way they are assembled and materials used.

None of the Wago range will fit in there. I think will send it back. The case is metal , why no Earth? I can't see double insulation cable being used.

The main point is that they don't even claim it's class 2, and yet provide no earth connection. I am rather dubious what they mean by purification as well. Are they going to purify your eyes or what?

That's ebay (and I think you can find them on Amazon too) for you. I bought things in the past which can tell can't be sold in UK but don't tolerate electricals.
Yes there is no mention of Class 2 and defo these aren't, metal case needs Earth, I can connect case to earth but not suppose to be like this or if it's safe.
I can't find small connectors, the smallest ones are crimp connectors but not sure the cable provided has very thin solid core would withstand crimping or the connector body small enough to it in the space?
The brackets are too thin, the metal can easily injure someone when trying to install it. No idea how to remove it once installed without breaking the whole thing.,

Excellent handiwork and finishing. And why didn't we think of wire nuts?

I just opened my current fitting, 3 cables coming form the ceiling, how do I manage these cables when the led batten is slim no space for any cable?

I took one of mine apart today to see if there was anyway of getting the cable to exit the end of the batten, inside is a small step down transformer which is covered in heatshrink and kept in the plastic end cap of the light, I assume this is why there's no earth, the light itself is significantly lower than 240v and the transformer is covered in heatshrink and stored in a plastic housing so 240v shouldn't ever be able to get near the metal part of the light.

I drilled a hole in the end cap, ran 1mm flex through and soldered it to the small cables and heatshrink over the top before applying insulation tape over the joint to stop it backing out the end cap, everything works fine with a plug fitted to the cable, I'll be cutting the flex down to a neat length to fit in a rose when I install them properly in my garage.

In my case, am trying to replace old type fluorescent light, as in pic above, there are 3 mains cables coming from the ceiling which are managed in the light assembly using strip type connector, I can't see a way of doing it with this slim batten, there is no space. I have asked the supplier and if no tidy way will send it back. I can replace the starter to LED starter and fit LED tube while keeping existing fitting.
