Hi, this is a long shot.
My old neighbours bell box came down in the storm the other day, so I offered to fit a new one.
The alarm box is a Rascal+ (circ 1992) and the new bell box is kinetic security AZ Tech external sounder.
6c cable has been used but 2c are cut back or have been pulled out of the bell box in the storm
The wiring terminology is my problem.
In the bell box we have the following terminals, Tamper, Trigger, Pos, Neg, Strobe neg. I have wired out the first 4 terminals
In the Rascal alarm panel, we have st-, s-, h-,+.
24 Tamper is now linked out, as is lid tamper, as there is a tamper fault.
Q. which should be wired to which and how would i test it with a meter??
Many thanks Ian

top man, many thanks.
On the Rascal panel there are 2 terminals for the tamper, do I keep it linked out or use just 1 terminal??

Ok ….in the panel remove the tamper loop wire link …put one probe on +12v ( meter set on dc ) put the other probe on each terminal of the tamper loop terminals …one will give you 13.8 v dc the other won’t ….put the wire in the one which didn’t ok
This is how it works …one terminal is a negative it goes down all the tamper loops and ends up at the other terminal …
