Hi,

Can somebody please help? I have moved into a new property and found all the wires from the consumer unit to disappear into the cavity wall. It looks like a reasonable safe installation but I am not sure if wires in the cavity are allowed?

Cables should not really be installed in cavities, because if insulation is later injected into the cavity, it can damage the cables and will reduce their current-carrying capacity.

But as yours are already there, you might as well leave them, and don't put cavity wall insulation in....

Hi

Thank you for this link. It does refer to a C5 - 35 but I can not access this. Can you help?
