Hi Guys,

need some help wiring a thermostat.

I've got a new stat from wickes and it has terminals numbered 1, 2 and 3.

The stat I'm replacing a danfoss has N/O 3 N/C 2 and CO 1

Do the 1 2 and 3 correspond?

Also the danfoss is not earthed, which number on the wickes is earth?

thx

PROB doesnt need eathing nor does it need a N/C just common to 1 and N/O to 3

edit: your N/C wire may be a neutral which can be wired back in please be sure before turning on power and consult MI

Thanks,

So I just move the connection on 1 (CO) on the danfuss onto 3 of the wickes, and 3 (N/O) on the danfuss to 1 on the wickes?

Chris

either way round will work as its just make and break.

im assuming you know how to isolate electric supply?

keep me posted!

I've replaced the danfoss rt1 with a danfoss rt51

Now, when the heating is on on the main controller - it stays on and ignores the thermostat

Have i wired it up wrong?

Should mention - one wire is wired to "common" and the other to "N/O"

IF N/O is normally open, should this 2nd wire to be "N/C" normally closed instead?

RT1
common 1
demand 2
satisfied 3
neut none (battery)

RT51 is
A Off N/C (sat)
B Common
C On N/O (demand)

ACL/Drayton RTS1 in case you meant that
common L
dem 3
sat None
neutral N

No, Common and Normally Open, = C for the RT51

Normality is relative!
If it's clicking but CH not coming on at all then summats wrong, even if you got the wrong terminal. Try putting both wires in the same terminal just to try it! BAtteries OK?

You are talking about the Danfoss RT51?? Click the pic

Cos that other one(RTS1) needs mains to work...

yep definately the rt51

Heating comes on. And stays on

Completely ignoring the thermostat

with the rt1, heating wouldn't come on at all

Then disconnect the switched live from the boiler and check with a meter, maybe there's a screw through the wires in the wall somewhere making intermittent connection.
