Hi, first post
we live in a barret built house. it was built in 2001.
we have a largish window in the living room with two opening outwards windows.
on the left window seen from the inside, the seal on the frame does not touch the frame of the window when closed on the right side, the left of the window seals ok, as in picture 1 and 2

http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt115/negativepitch/window/2w.jpg
you can see the gap near the top of the photo, as I say the left part of the window is ok, its as if the window is scew viff as one side of it seals ok, the other side has a gap, so its not all the way round.
the type of catch is photo 3

and window hinge is photo 4

I have checked the catch is inter locking ok and its the same as the window on the opposite side which we have no problems with.
I cant push the window in at all from the outside, and the small bracket that makes sure the window closes in place is fine not cracked etc.
the other thing is, when you pull the window to close, if you let it go before closing the lock, you can feel it wanting to pull away from you to open, if you let the window go it pulls back to the gap shown in photo 5
where as the window on the other side of the same frame will just sit there as in photo 6.
so photos 5 and 6 show how the windows sit when you pull the window in and then let go, photo 5 wants to open back up and photo 6 just sits ok.
hope you can follow this.
thanks for any advice
steve.
