Wobbly bathroom mixer tap crisis.

I have a mixer tap in my downstairs toilet and the mixer taps are loose.

The fitting underneath looks like this (see pic).
I can’t see how to tighten the brass bolt up from the bottom without the flexi pipes getting twisted constantly.

Normally with that type of fixing the threaded rod, which is hollow to allow for the "pop up waste" operating rod, has a hexagon on the inside. You put a long Allen key of the right size down the operating rod hole (after removing the rod!) and tighten by turning clockwise looking down.

How long an Alan key? I did try that, but the Alan key didn’t grip onto anything.
I’m trying to turn the wing nut from below and it’s won’t tighten fully.

Glad it's fixed, but I don't think a wobbly tap really counts as a crisis! More a slight inconvenience - or were you being ironic?
