We have just had a wood burner salesman look at the burner in our recently purchased house. He has told us it can't be used as it isn't defra approved. It hadn't been used by the previous occupants.
His issue is partly to do with the age of the device but also the fact that the flue is 4". Is it possible to convert this to a 5" or greater flue? It is quite an old burner and I've struggled to find out much about it online? I don't want to have a device that's unsafe but if what I have can be made usable I'd rather do that than spend a load of money I don't have to
