Wood damage in winter cold?

I have a relatively new house, which I will leave unoccupied for a few weeks (it could be until the end of the winter), while I go away during the Christmas break.
The house has not really been occupied so little humidity has been created and it has had several months for the humidity from the construction to dissipate. The heating has been working last winter and a little this winter. I have noticed that no condensation is building up on the windows this winter, at a temperature of 9 degC.
This house has fancy hardwood floors, stairs and doors. If I leave the house without heating, while I am away, is there still any risk of damage to the wood?

its not advisable to leave a house with no heating through the winter if theres water in the heating system/tank etc.if they freeze and no ones home youre going to have a very nice mess on your return.

wood is not dammaged by cold or getting wet
it can be wet for several weeks without dammage as long as it cycles with the weather and can dry inbetween
avoid anything touching the wood like leaves or earth as they hold damp

timber has to be constantly more than around 18percent moisture to decay
of course some are more hardy than others
